OK need to install about 22 snap rings and then hooks to the rings. The rings are size 2 and I do not have a snap ring tool. Is there any way to get them on without the tool or do I just need to get the tool?

I use a very small pair of flat nose pliers. Grab one side of the split ring, far enough back to have a little bit to push agaist the eyelet. Just slide it in the eyelet as the split ring seperates.
It recommended to me to get these...glad I did, they work great!!!! http://www.tacklewarehouse.com....html

Can do what i did, I couldn't find a pair, I have purchased like 4 pair, i liked so i went to the dollar store bought me a cheap pair of needlenosed took my torch heated one side red hot bent it 90 degrees then used a good file to shape the tip the way I wanted works great.
Scott..... I bought the tool... BEFORE I had it tho, I used a butter knife to open the one side. Then I slipped the hook eye in the opening and slid it around...BUT not all the way, I followed the lure loop after the treble hook.
Take your time and you'll get them done.

I would recommend getting a pair of split ring pliers also. My favorite have been these so far. http://www.barlowstackle.com/S....aspx
