Looks real good!![]()
Just start using stencils for the gills and such.
Mike see how the black dot is not a solid dot... it seemed to run out when I sprayed it. I think the coat before that was to wet![]()
They have some good tips here...

Nope, dot paint too thin, too much pressure, too close to the bait. One or all of these is the running issue.Try using a hole punch on a stencil.

Im no pro, but...
We use different things like finish nails or un-sharpened pencils to make our dots. Just dip the end in the paint a little and dab it on the lure this way you dont have to change colors in the air brush too.
Donny, buy you one of these the next time you are in hobby lobby....
Pick out whatever circles you will use and take scissors and cut the rest off. Put some masking tape over the sides to prevent overspray.
As Mike said, turn your air pressure down some.
A good rule of thumb for me is:
opaques @ 40lbs pressure
pearls @30-35lbs pressure
transparents @ 25lbs pressure
Now you can vary this a little bit depend on what shoots best for you of course.
Those look nice for your 1st two baits without any stencils!!

Add a piece of cardboard hung up to spray your 1st switch of paint colors on after washing out your gun. Spraying on the cardboard will push out the remaining water that was left in the gun. Just a guess!! Good luck with your painting!!
Not bad at all Donny. You're off to a good start for sure. Your work station looks good too.![]()

Are you heat setting each coat with a heat gun or blow dryer? Like Mike said, you may have had your paint too thin or your gun too close when you sprayed the dot.

All you need is to put up a picture of your family. This way you'll recognize them when they come to bring you your dinners! Nice job!
