Dad has bought a nice older stratos with this engine. After figuring
out the 12/24v johnson trolling motor has only been wired for 12v
i noticed a charging system back at the batteries comes from the wiring
harness to this box and then some wires to the batteries. i will try to
post a picture in a day or two talked to the past owner he says put on by
the dealer any ideas??

The boat come out of Gallatin? That box is more than likely and on board charger. Many of the 12/24 OMC trolling motors had the battery leads run in parallel and used either the switch on the front panel to select 12 or 24 V or used the switch on the foot peddle.
no came out of east tenessee. at the front plug the wires were
jumped at the wrong location. the guy that had it never knew
he only had 12v. 12/24 switch on the motor was either 12v
or nothing. the previous owner hardly used the trolling motor
it is almost new wish dad would trade me my motorguide for that
trolling motor i might gain 2 mph.wish omc would had kept the trolling
motors they where awesome.
