How to recolor old lead sinkers ?

I have a bunch of old small 1/8 and 1/16 sinkers that kind of have a white chalky color to them. Is there any kind of chemical or method that would make them look somewhat new? I'd really like to paint them all black if I knew how to do it where it wouldn't leave a bad odor.

    Any tips appreciated

does that leave a bad odor? I tried it with some tungsten weights once and it worked ok. The polish would hold better on lead I think

I use the small bottles of lure paint. I stick a tooth pick in the end of the weight and dip it.

Let them soak in vinegar for a few hours and then let them dry and then prime and paint them.

I used to let them soak in liquid plumber, it will take the shine off new weights and turn them a off colored black, what is nice is you can do a bunch of weights at one time.

get 4 pet bottle caps, put a weight in each,

    1. add vinegar and a dash of baking soda

    2. soy sauce

    3. coke cola

    4. wd40

see which works / cleans best

If you use an airbrush, urethane paint will stick to them if heated gently for a few mins after painting.
