What size braid would you put on a 2500 size spinning reel? Would use it for shakey heads and finesse type stuff. Thanks

I went looking for advice on setting up my spinning gear a couple years ago. I wound up finding this article http://www.insideline.net/week....html with recommendations by some guy named Gary Yamamoto. 10lb Power Pro on my spinning tackle ever since with fluorocarbon leaders in clear water (not a lot of clear water where I live).

nothing but 10 lb super braid for me. I fish with a flouro leader when in clear water also.
You really shouldn't need anything more than 10# as long as your using a medium action rod. But if your using a heavier rod boost it up to 15 or 20 maybe more. Try considering some copolymer lines for your shakey heads like P-line x-tra strong 8#, I think you'll like it more and you'll be able to cast it good. Braid has a lot of draw backs, like straightening hooks on jigheads, and braid makes a lot of noise under water when it rubs against things like wood, weeds, and docks. I use braid a lot less than I used to because I'm convinced I'm tearing hooks out of the fish's face. Braid is still important for topwater because of it's floatability. Little details make all the difference.
I use power pro 6lb dia 20 lb test. LOVE IT

This is what I use. However, I've seen Larry Nixon speak twice at Bass University and he uses 10# braid on his spinning outfits.

I would use either 20 or 30lb power pro I tried the 10 and 15 but it pulls into itself especially on a good fish that trys to pull drag
I like 15 lb Berkley Tracer Braid but whatever braid you use, remember to put some mono or fluorocarbon backing on your spool first or the braid will spin around your spool on the hookset and during the fight...if you get that far.
