Am thinking of trying braid on my spinning gear and was wondering if it is easier or better using a small swivel attaching the mainline braid to a fluoro leader rather than tying a uni to uni, albright, etc. knots to connect the two lines. thanks.

Sure you can, but depening on the length of your leader, you might have a harder time casting since you won't be able to bring the swivel through your line guides (at least you shouldn't). I would think you'd want a longer leader to get the swivel farther out of the sight of the fish.

It's more serious than that!
Exactly, I use a double uni and it works excellent. The info on the swival is right on. Tying the double uni can be a pain in the ass when the winds blowing and your drifting off your spot, but for sensitivity you can't beat it. Also I like the no stretch aspect of braid. This works very well for drop-shotting.
I tried this and it didn't work at all, trying to cast with a 3 foot leader really sucked. I went to the alberto knot and I'm much happier now![]()
