    Thoughts/opinions on bass movements...

I have a little weekend lot on my local lake and the area around my lot, I have never had much success catching fish. It is in a good area, good creek, deep water near by, plenty of cover, docks, etc.. but I have never caught but a couple of fish. I have to run up the lake or down the lake to catch fish. I was wondering, if I start putting some of the fish I catch in the livewell and then transporting them back to the water around my lot and releasing them, will they stay or will they migrate back to their old haunts or to completely new water?

They won't stay. Be better to start planting brush to draw in bait.

put you some brush under your dock and along the ledge where the creek channel is to draw them in

I've tried both... I've got brush under my dock, most of my neighbors docks (that's what they get when they don't come down for several weekends ) and I've got brush planted out in the slews close to the creek channels... only thing I've caught off the brush is a few small crappie in the spring????

What you need is something that makes your area differant that everywerer else. Are there stump fields nearby. You can make your own using 5gal buckest. Put about 3" of sand and rock in um and sink um in about 7 to 10' of water. They also don't show up on a graph very well so for a while anyway, you'll be the only one that knows about them. May also try looking at what you've got out now w/ and underwater camera. You may have fish that don't like what you're throwing.

There have been some studies on tournament released fish and it shows most fish travel back to the area they were caught. So bring 'em to ya by planting brushpiles, etc.!
