Well - I got the Front graph installed and it went very smoove. I'm routing everyting into the starboard rod box and hooking up the LSS there (on advice from a buddy with hundreds of installations under his belt)
Wanted some thoughts about the rear graph / side scan transducer.
Okay - this might be weird - I assume the majority of guys put their console graphs to the right of the console - but is there any advantage/disadvantage (other than maybe being in the way) to putting it to the left of the console? I was wondering if it'd be easier for a partner to also view the screen while the driver is busy 'driving' ? Anybody ever do that? or is that patenly stupid?
And then related to the sidescan transducer. I understand putting it on the JP is popular but if I go straight into the transom - am I 'close' with my mark? The rear angles on the Champions help with cornering - but it does reduce the amount of transom space. I think the SideScan is supposed to be a bit offset from the normal puck transducer that shoots thru the hull. I'll likely put it in next to the in-dash flasher unit.
I'm assuming I can just come up and over the transom and run the cables right in with the steering, gas, etc 'bundle'. (sorry - it's not the closest pic - but I think it gets you the idea.)
