Prop nut and Merc Flo torq question OMC

What do you guys use to tighten the prop nut? I normally use a big crescent wrench, but just got a Fury, and it looks like it will be way to hard to get at.

This thing is beautiful, been B&B'd by Mark, so I don't even want to ding or scratch.

Deep well 1/2 in socket maybe? Does one of those plastic prop wrenches get the nut on tight enough? Seems to me it would strip or break. I don't think it will get down in there either though.

Actually people would be better off to read the service manual or listen to the folks on this site who know what they are talking about than to pay attention to me.

I used a plastic prop wrench years ago; figured it was tight enough. Checked with a torque wrench and discovered it was only 35# torque. Changed to using a torque wrench ever since.

Well I can't figure out what size the nut is. 1 inch is to small, 1 1/8 is to big. Math isn't my strong suit, so I'm guessing that it is a metric size.

And my trim tab sits to close.

I would try a 1 1/16" inch socket. Perhaps you can ask this question on the new J/E HiPo forums that you moderate.
