Changing water pump & Impeller

I read the tips section on doing this but I do not see a bolt to unhook the shift pin
would my motor have that bolt ?

If you do not have the bolt, there should be a "Hair Pin" on the starboard side of the engine that you can pull, then push the shift shaft to the port and drop the lower unit.
