    150 Fast strike

Bought a 1991 150HP Fast strike recently and have a question. The powerhead has 0 hours on it other than idling and link and sync. The powerhead they used was a new 175 Faststrike power head(seller stated). My question is, do I need to re-jet the carbs to match this powerhead or will I be ok??? Everything from the 150 HP was used including the carbs..Thanks in advance,,,Art

original motor stamp is J150GLEIS/new powerhead has G3734498 on the welch plug and 335195 on each head. Nothing else anywhere I can see.

    150's came with a 71d, 175's came with a 72d. You'll need 6, the part number is 328546.

I doubt 1 size will make much difference, but to be safe I would jet up. The carbs should be the same other then that.

Do you know what year engine the carbs came off?

Order them from bestboatparts.com. Cheapest place I have found unless someone has them on the board. I do, but I just ordered them for a project.

Also the 175's make peak power a little higher then the 150's so you need to prop to turn it 5700 to reach the HP peak.

I would put the 72d's in there. You can probably run it, but I wouldn't do long full throttle runs until I had the bigger jets in there.

335195 heads are what should be on there. The main diff in a 175 versus the 150 is the port height on the exhaust ports, from what I have been told.

My 150 came with 70D's. I happen to have a set of 71D's if you need them.
