    Lake Management

I own a lot at lake royale just so I can bass fish there. I have over the years seen a decline in lunker bass and a rise in population in cookie cutter bass. I know the lake management stocks fingerling bass in there every year, according to them last year. This lake does not have that many people that fish it and take some of the fish out so I know they are over populated. What can I do? I live in wilson and a couple of years ago wildlife agents took alot of bass out of buckhorn to carry down east to the rivers or werever they were needed. Is it possible ,with lake royale permession, to set up a tourney and let everyone catch as many of the 15inch and less bass and get wildlife to transport them elsewere? Would they buy the fish? What are yalls thought on this?

Ask the lake management to stop stocking the lake for three or four years. That's the problem, and maybe you can throw a few bigger fish in there once in a while to help reduce the population, if they allow that.

    Here is my recommendation

Seriously you may want to talk to NC Wildlife and see if they will have biologist come out and do a lake study and see if they feel like there is an imbalance in the fish population. I doubt they will want to take fish from a tournament because of the stress they fish would be under from the handling that happens in a tournament. I could be wrong but I seriously feel like the mortality ratio would be higher

Don't tell Va wildlife dept that they want live.....each yeat they set up a fish transport truck at the big tournaments. Keep them in the truck and dump them out in clarksville at state park ramp..........seen this with my own eyes
