    Re: spinning rod (txbblmb2)

well i'll tell you what i think.. i have had Loomis , castaway, st Croix.. and Falcon. i have broken more loomis than all the other brand of rods put together.. 1 got a 2 pc 721 laying it the boat as we speak...the only other loomis i have left is a 661 UL and guess what it has been broken TWICE.. it just get shorter and stiffer, but i still use it to throw 1/32 jigs on it.... i have been fishing Falcons for 6 years now and will continue to spend my money with them with no regrets.. i have broke 1 falcon ,walked up to the Falcon Booth at a tournament handed them my broken rod , they told me they didn't have that rod with them but for 10 dollars they would give me the next higher grade rod.. Team Falcon all the way and they are made in the good ole USA

    Re: spinning rod (Luke)

Luke any custom rod maker will tell you that He wants your business and your money. I have new IMX rods and old ones alike. There doesn't seem to be any slip in craftsmanship or quality to me? I have heard the same crap from others ever since they were bought by shimano, but I just aint buying it. Mine are fine.

so is that why when i asked hime for the components to build it myself and i asked for the Loomis IMX blank he told me that i would be more happy with the St Croix SCIV blank..at a cheaper price compared to the Loomis??

you might not be able to tell the diffrence in the old Loomis rods vs. the new ones but i can in the 6 that my freind has and he will tell you that they are not built the same as they used to be and he is a Loomis guy like you and RJ

just another this is better than that thread you keep buyin them high $$ loomis rods ill keep buyin mine....................im not gonna get in a pissin match over a Rod Brand i save them threads for Boat and Motor brands

    Re: spinning rod (txbblmb2)

Melvin, I have had Falcons and I can echo your thoughts on their customer service I have used them since they came out with the Silver series(thats what they called them befor they called them Original Series) I have had the Gunsmoke series(no longer in production), Cara's, and a custom made spinning rod from an Expert casting blank. They are nice no doubt about it, and cheaper than a IMX rod. Heavier than the IMX also If I didnt own my Loomis rods I'd go back to the Avid series of St. Croix. JMO

    Re: spinning rod (txbblmb2)

many moons ago (20 yrs) i bought 3 -Loomis 661 UL blanks , i built myself, Matthew and my Buddy Rick all a nice UL.. i have broken mine twice but still use it .. Matthew snapped his into about 5 years ago.. sent it back to Loomis andfor 50 dollars they sent me a factory built GL3.. now there is no comparison in these 2 rods,, I'll take my 20 year old blank over the new one any day... way more sensitive than the newer one

Never had any quality issues with any of my loomis rods. Own 7, and have owned as many as 15 at one time or another. From GL2- GLX. Loved them all, and will never EVER switch.
