That is asking a lot. I favor the SJR (spin jig rod series) from G. Loomis. A little pricey for the IMX series, but very well worth every penny.![]()

will it end up in 2 pieces like my 721 loomis did this weekend.... only one more loomis to get rid off![]()
If it does, send it in and it''ll cost $20 and take about 2 weeks.![]()
I'm sure you can't go wrong with a loomis but I am 100% satisfied with my Quantum PT signature series spinning rods, 6'10" M and has a sweet lookin' split grip![]()

thats why I had mine Custome Made![]()
well ryan the problem is that I have a falcon cara right know (wicth is a great rod ) but It is a little to heavy for what I want
What model and for what purpose are you using it????
I have several Caras but NONE in spinning models. I have Several Spining rods each for different purpose ranging from and older Lews Speed stick in 6'6" MH to my Custom rod spun on an Avid Blank......I've had Lowriders and Originals in Spin.....still have one right now that is Origial 7' ML that is great but I will agree is little too heavy for what I use it for.![]()
I bought a St Croix Avid 68mxf that is the chit for shakeyhead fishing. Limber tip for working the jig and and the backbone to turn their head. Only fished it for a week this year (didn't get much of a chance to fish since then) but it caught alot of fish and is one of my favorite rods now.
Chris,
That was the exact model I was goign to buy but just didnt like the "feel" of it....now I looked at a Legend series that was 6'9" ML x-fast and was perfect but I talked to Russ on the BBC and was able to make one for me for around the same price as a Legend......AND......I got it in colors I wanted as well as Split rear grip for added sensetivity and cut the weight of it down a little.
personally.....I could not have asked for a more perfect rod for what I spent on it![]()
Melvin check out G-Blank rods anything up to 7' custom made for $125 the owners name is Larry

someone get their loomis britches wadded up![]()
Call Larry and ask him how many loomis coustomers he has had sell every loomis they have and buy a G-Blank rod from himand for more then half of the price
ask a reputible rod bulider about the loomis Rods they aint what they used to be
look at an old loomis and a new one and you can tell a diffrence
i have a buddy of mine that has 6 IMX rods all diffrent ages and you can tell a diffrence in the rods easily if you look
they are nothing more than a high $$ assembly line rod now not built one at a time no more
i have used a loomis a lot and i havent got nothing against them at all but when you can get the same caliber rod at more than half the price.......ill go the latter way and you can spend your $$ on the loomis and ill just keep on catchin fish and with a bigger smile![]()
I have had Falcon, Castaway, St. Croix, Loomis, and 1 Lamiglas rod. I can only give you my honest opinion/experience with them all. I will tell you that out of all of them I thought the Lamiglas was the poorest qaulity of all of them. I sold it within a week or two of buying. It was not their top of the line model, but compared to the other manufacturers entry level rods it was the least apealing and worst craftsmanship of all of them. RJ can tell you I used to have a boat load full of St. Croix Avids, and Premiers, and I liked them very much. Still prefer the Avids over the Legend Tournaments, or LE's. I had 0 problems with warranties when I broke my Avids, and I broke Several(Still liked them even though they broke) That being said I have to admit that I like my Loomis rods the best. From my old IM6 FLipping rod to my GLX 784 (I no longer have any GLX rods I traded them for more IMX rods) I don't understand the BRITTLE desription of the Loomis rod as I have NEVER EVER broken a Loomis rod. I think that their IMX SJR series of spinning rods is the best rod you can buy without going custom. This is just my opinion, but I think they are #1. I have dealt with Loomis warranty on rods that I bought at CABELAS (bargain cave broken rods) and had new rods sent back to me no questions asked. I think about the only rod I haven't owned from a major manufacturer is KISTLER, but I have looked at them and must admit they are a fine lookin rodI have looked and played with the G- Blank rods (made in OK
, but I wouldn't say I would trade my Loomis rods by any stretch of the Imagination. Luke Im sure Larry would say that as he is only trying to prostitute his rod over another. IF YOU WANT ME TO BUY A CHEVY SELL ME ON ITS QUALITY, DONT BASH FORD OR DODGE!!! The newer Champions do not ride as well as the odler narrower hull nor are they as fast! The Arkansas boats are better than the GENMAR Tennessee boats

Brad never did i BASH a loomis like i said i have used the Loomis Rods and they are nice rods but not for the price they are nor are the kistlers in my oppinion
everyone gave their oppin and i gave mine i know of one Rod maker on here that has been in the rod building buisness for quite a long time and he will give you his oppinion on a Loomis if asked......and he will tell you to buy something else if i am not mistaken
it makes me no diffrence what Rod Melvin or Mathew buys but i belive that Melvin has already had one Loomis break so obiviously they will break and i was just giving them another option instead of paying $250+ when you can buy 2 of the G-Blank rods for that
