1985 GT 150 Cutting Out

The boat has been sitting now for about 3 months, getting the carpet done and stuff like that, the other day I took it out just to ride around, the motor started fine, and idled fine, but wen I took off I found that it would cut out about every 3-5 seconds for a half second or so, and recover. O looked back a teh clear filter and saw that it was only half full. I then switched the tanks over to the other side, pumped up the bulb, and even though it would cut out, it didn't do it as often. The boat had been sitting with almost no gas in the tanks.

Could this be water in the system?, bad lines, or just the fact that it has been sitting so long?

Or worse yet, something bigger.

I assume you mixed the old gas with fresh gas? If not, I would add fresh gas and try it. I would also drop in a fresh set of plugs and try it.

Yes I filled the tanks with new gas, and plugs were next.....I think though I found the problem. When I squeeze the bulb, it sounds like it's letting air in.....so I think I may have a leaky connection. Gonna tighten, and try again tomorrow.
