    SHO on Stroker base number

Ran the Yamaha SHO 250hp on Keith Tuma's (dentguy) Stroker today.........pretty impressive Terrible conditions - 30 mph winds and lots of boat traffic Ran 96 mph with a 32 pitch TXP. Not the best selection of props. There is 100mph in the rig with some good props...........maybe a 32 Performer ET?? The thing is a beast

I wish I would have known you had that animal up and running. That does sound awful impressive for the first time out.

Re: SHO on Stroker base number (Wayne Worthy)

What kind of RPM's was that 96 w/ 32TXP? What was holeshot like? And mid range acceleration? Compared to say, a250 HPDI maybe that has been modified (Phase II or III), and also, is this SHO stock or have you guys done any mods to it yet?

Sorry for all the questions, but would love to hear more.

My bad, just so used to typing 27TXP and I reckon I had one of those old age moments. Maybe I'm too old to be getting one of these go fast Strokers....... nah.

Yes we needed the Mourer touch The HPDI will not compare to the SHO it never labored with any of the props we tried even the 34 four bladed Performer. It gets to 96 so fast It turned 6000 with the 32 TXP

The engine is stock.......we did make the gearcase low water pickup with some mods like our HPDI modded gearcase.

This thing is really fun.. It's a totally different animal than a two stroke.. SUPER quiet and very torqey.. It popped out of the hole with every prop we put on it... My personal thoughts are it NEEDS the sportmaster, for two reasons, a the gear ratio to help keep it off the limiter and b the profile... There is a bunch more left in it and we'll keep working at it!! Wayne and the boys from Hydro-tec did an outstanding job with rigging and support and also with tolerating my "ideas"...

    Way more to come!!

Thats awesome! After seeing how a SHO launched a big ol fat Ranger out of the hole...well I was VERY impressed with the hole-shot. It REEKS torque. I would love to drive one to feel what its all about

Its right in line with a Merc 250's with a sporty.....The HPDI would need some phase work to get that speed i believe.......When they get the sportmaster on it you can expect triple digits

10-4 on what Jason said. My stock 08 Stroker with a stock 250xs ran a best of 102. That was light, without a troller and 1/2 tank of gas.
