Looking at a 1999 21 SS Extreme W/225 Evinrude Ficht, Extremly clean all update done on motor, Dual console, could use electronic updated other than that needs nothing, He is asking 18K that seem quite high to me. So I thought I would ask the experts, I was thinking of offering quite a bit less, but not looking to insult either, Also how does this boat perform?

18kYou have alot of options out there for 18k I would pass. Look on BBCs for sale section.
I would run from a ficht no matter whats been done to it.
We generally get 15 on really nice ones.
Most dealers only offer 8-9k for one on trade. Not us tho.....one of the best boats we can put our hands on for a fast resale.
I'm thinking about buying a '99 21 SS with the Johnson 225 HO. Are they any different than the Evinrudes?
I'm also going to look at a '99 Stratos 21 SS. Any input on the ride and fishability of the boat?
I have a 2000 22 ss that I really like has lots of room and storage. runs and handels real good, i think the $18,000 for the one above may be a little much but it could be worth that, I think a lot of trouble they had with the Fitch engine was with the 150s and 175s but you don't see many around here in Oklahoma

Any ficht is a bad idea The Johnson ho is a carb engine and they are good engines. Have the compression checked by a mechanic before you buy.
I love my 99 21ss.It has alot of room,storage and fishes very well.Smooth ride and handles rough water good.I am not sure about 18k but I havent seen the boat.Good luck with your decision.

We have 100's of the 99-2000 3L FICHTs on the water with no issues. Several with well over 1000 hours.
We'll trade for all you guys want to bring in! We're happy to take them.....and our customers aren't scared of them. We offer warranty on every one we sell and generally fix a gearcase or trim unit long before there's a powerhead problem.
I have a 2001 stratos extreme 20' 225rude I'll take 11,500.
Ive been looking to buy one of these boats for some time, ive seen alot of them out there for sale anywhere from 10 to 15 grand. Y so many people not likeing the ficht motors? i will probably being buying one here in a couple mounths and if any one could give me some advice on why not to buy one with a ficht it would be great.
According to Todd they made some good ones in a certain year and HP. I have a good friend down here who is an OMC mechanic and has been for 25 years and I remember when they first came out he had them lined up in his shop because of them blowing up. He said they were running to lean.
I maybe wrong but i think the ficht is what put omc out of business. Ive never heard anything good about them. But Im sure I will after this post. Maybe not its not in Evinrude forum. Those guys over there will snipe you if you breathe a bad word about Evinrude.
If you go to the Evinrude forum and read the gripes they have, their are problems with the E-tec engines also, i have a 2000 225 fitch that i really like, if its still running after 10 years then it should be a good one. Its just like cars you can get a bad one. i would not be afraid to buy another Troy W SS 22
I have a 2000 22 SS Extreme and love it and won't think of selling it !!! she ain't fast but she's got plenty of room to fish and rides like a dream.
i have a 2000 21 ss extreme with 03 merc 225 efi i love it, i have mine for sale for 15,000 i think 18,000 is a little high though
MY 21SS is an aircraft carrier, runs 60 and rides like no other. 225 FICHT is incredible on fuel and oil. just keep it tune and decarbed and run the hell out of it. I think about selling mine and then think about what I would pay for anything as big and stable and put her back in the garage.
2001 ss with a 225 ficht at 435 HRS. It is a great boat and motor and a fish catching machine. Hits about 68 on a little chop. My rude has never had a hiccup, just run xd50 and every year i have a flush of some kind on the injectors , change the plugs,lower unit fluid, and impeller. It runs as strong or stronger than other brands out there. Just check the history before you buy .but yes i understand the 2000 150HP had some bad apples. Hate to say mine will be for sale after the 20th of next month only because i have the new boat itch.
