    POWER POLE input needed...

hey guys, ready to buy some power poles...
since i have never owned ANY, but do see the need for them, i doubt i want to go to the max with 2 new blade series or anything, but definatley dont want to wish i hadda done something bigger/better immediatley....

i am leaning towards 1 signature series 8ft....

    i have a 21 ft GAMBLER...
any and ALL help would be appreciated as for which model you'd suggest.....

**also might be interested in a used one if one of you are ready to upgrade...

Since I have one of them (Sig), I would say it is a good choice, however the old Pro Model is a little cheaper and probably just as effective IMHO

The Signature Series has been discontinued in the 8 ft. model, they are only making it in a 4' and 6' model now. You many be able to find a dealer who has a few left on hand. The 2012 lineup only offers an 8 ft. version in either the ProII or the Blade series. Both will offer the same functionality, it's really up to the options and speed of deployment, etc, that will best suit you.

yes.....if you get a 6 ft, you will definitely be wishing you got the 8.

I have the 8, and want the 10 now that they are out

Like I said, no one better than Tom at MotorTech not only is he "local" (Suffolk, Va.) in reference to where you are at Rocky Mount, but he has a policy to match or beat any written qoute. Not to mention he's just one helluva nice guy and can give you any "free" info you need about Power Poles, you most certainly will be dealing with him on something else pertaining to your boat in the future. Adam, you absolutely want at least an 8 ft. model in this region. Anything shorter, you'll never be satisfied.

Re: POWER POLE input needed... (low slung cruiser)

Now is the perfect time to ge an 8 ft pro series or signature. Many guys are selling their old ones to get blades. I've got two 8 ft pros and could not see the advantage to spending the extra money. Super easy and simple to install. I bought one used and the second brand new from Rich at Hydrilla Gear. Super guy, great customer service and the best prices. I know Tom Foster in Suffolk and he is also a great guy but Hydrilla Gear deals in volume and can give better discounts. Tom is definitely the "go to" guy if you've got trolling motor issues.

Re: POWER POLE input needed... (SSNCHIEF)

I am not trying to high jack the thread, but Iam curious to hear your guys input on which side your installing them on if you running a single pole? I want to put it on the driverside, being my e-ladder in on the other side, also I think my fishing patterner might not like it on the d/s for casting reasons LOL! I have a brand new 6ft pro model i have had for almost a year and just havent installed yet , I have been debating on whether or not to sell and goto a 8ft model.

Minn Kota makes a foldover bracket for the Talon that can used with the Power Pole too. The pole will lay over the back deck of the boat.
