Johnson Tilt and Trim Problem

Ok guys, I know this isnt good, cant be. '97 400TDC, 225 Venom, first time out this year about a little over a month ago I noticed a whining sound on the trim when going up. I filled the resovoir up and it fixed the problem....for about 2 weeks. I filled it up again and noticed that when its all the way up, when its trimmed down it oozes out around the the top( im guessing the main) cylinder. It takes about 2 trips to the lake to leak out now and it sounds awful when it gets low. I was told by a friend of mine that you have to replace the whole unit, that there isnt a seal to replace to fix the problem.........Anyone had this problem or any experience dealing with it?? Check to see if Bombardier has some sort of online schematics (like a parts section) that would show that area of the trim. I know Yamaha has this. If you find it, just look to see if there's an o-ring in the drawing.

In the Yamaha, there are four o-rings and a dust ring in the tilt cylinder, your Johnson should be similar.

you need to fully post the model number of your engine, but i did look it up ( there are 7 different models and 2 different trims hydro , and electric) I went with hydro and there is a o=ring and seal kit ( part #0434519 and a motor brush and seal kit # 0585229)
