    Trim/Tilt Problem

I have a '92 mercury 150 blackmax with a trim issue. The trim works great at idle speed and tailored, but whenever the boat is underway my motor will not trim up. The motor will trim down while underway just not up. I have replaced both solenoids, but didn't resolve the problem. Please help!!!

    Welcome to BBC!

To clarify- if, after you launch the boat, you run the trim to the FULL DOWN position (fully tucked in)... and then accelerate to 3/4 or WOT, the trim will not raise the engine AT ALL (not even slightly)?

Do you have a voltmeter you can monitor (dash mounted, or on a graph) to determine if there is any voltage change when you "attempt" to trim up?

    Re: Trim/Tilt Problem (EuropeanAM)

Thank you for the warm welcome and help!!! Correct---motor is trimmed all the way down and once onto plane the motor will not trim up at all! But like I said earlier the trim is strong in both directions up and down when at idle speed or trailored. I do have a
Voltmeter in dash but I have not checked to see if there is a drop in voltage when engaging the
    Trim.

If you get the chance... see if you can monitor the voltage when attempting to trim from the FULL DOWN position.

Since it's very hard to hear the trim system over the engine's sound- this may help us to determine if the problem is electrical, or HYDRAULIC in nature.
