    Towing: Motor won't stay centered

I have a ZX 225 and pull it with a Chevy Tahoe. The motor always turns while going down bumpy roads. Have some damage to my transom saver as a result of the motor turning and bumpy roads. Why won't that motor stay centered? Anybody else experience this? it drives me nuts!

Our roads are horrible here in La. I have a 150 and never had a problem but the only way to fix would be to get some steering clips.

My old boat's motor would not stay centered, but an bungee cord from the grab rail to the steering wheel held it centered

Thanks! i should probably get a pair of these. Oklahoma roads are horrible too but i didn't have a problem with my old boat. Was wondering if it was a Skeeter-thing or EZ loader trailer-thing.

I took a price of PVC pipe. 1" if I remember correctly about 4" long. Cut a slot out of it so it would spring over the steering rams. Works well. Cost me nothing. I had some scrap PVC at the house.

The T & H things work well, but I'm cheap.

They stop the motor from turning. The E-Z Loader trailer also has enough flex that it also pushes up on the trim also. I have to bungee both ends of the transom saver so it won't fall off.

I use these from Detwiler. Found them to be easier to get on and off than the others.

Works great, no motor turns - just pulled my rig from Houston to New Orleans - no issues after thousands of miles and 3 boats with LnH.
