    Adjusting Idle on 3.1 ?

I have a 2003 200hp 3.1ltr on a 19.5 stratos and it idles just under 4mph trimmed up or all the way down, and i need to slow it down a little for my SI unit. At the moment it idles about 800 according to the tach. Is it as easy to adjust as the carb motors with a screw driver?

Yes you can slow it down by turning one screw. Should be around 650 to 700 in gear.

The idle wont slow it down much, and your motor is an EFI, not carb... What pitch prop do you have? How many rpms and speed are you seeing at wide open trimmed out?

Mike are you really going to tell the guy to change props so he can go slower at idle?

If he's turning 5600 or less rpms at wide open throttle... Then YES! But he must not care too much..

Running 200 hpdi on 19ft ranger I am at a 23p. The 25 4blade was a fast prop for me. If you do not want to change props buy a drift sock and drag it. Or throw the redneck pail on a rope out.

I'm getting 69-70 mph but as far as rpm's I don't trust my tach since it only shows me getting no more than 4500. But since my speed is where it should be I'm sure the tach is wrong

He could always make sure he is going up stream it would be cheaper than a prop.

Yes, it is. Starboard side half way on the linkage there is one screw. Take half a turn out and forget about it.

Yes, it is. It's very similar to the carbed engines.
