Last night when I went to be my wife was feeling OK, still some pain but OK with pain meds.

I get up @ 5 to ready to go to work, my daughter would be over to the house around 8 am.
My wife said she was feeling nauseous, 2 x's she vomited before I went to work.
A couple hours later my daughter calls to tell me they figured out why my wife was feeling sick..... The Dr. prescribed Vicodin for the pain, when my wife was checked into pre op yesterday they asked "Are you allergic to anything"? CODEINE they put a RED BRACELET on her stating that.
I did get the generic for Vicodin at the pharmacy. I guess I should have read the pamphlet from the pharmacy about the medicine before letting her take any meds.

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT BRACELET ON HER WRIST FOR

Call the on call Dr. of course tells her not to take any more and to get to drinking gatoraide. Then says the Generic shouldn't have codeine in it.

I'm just a little pissed............................................ ...............................

i can tell you some war stories of Marsha and some Dr's and Nurses of some of there screw ups ... when it's posted on the foot of the bed Charts, door charts , wall charts, charts that they are carrying and on her arm and they still screw up thought i was going to get throwed in Jail because of a male nurse at KU Med

They mostly are like robots....given a condition, they prescribe X for it.....without any thought or consideration of the individual's needs/limitations/allergies. They're mostly insensitive idiots! Sorry she had to go through that when it was so preventable. Sue the bastages!
