Will an 835258K1 hub kit fit a Chopper II on a 300x small shaft L/U ? Buddy has one for a cheap price, just looking at it, it has a different style nut lock where you bend up 2 ears. Box says for 300 Pro Max.

Yes, Gary... it should work.
Newer style hub kits are being phased into inventory, which contain a newer-style locking ring for the nut. Looks like this:
