    '04 250XS transom bracket

Don, I noticed that on the lower portion of my transom bracket there is another bracket called the plate assembly(part #89949A1) and it is cracked through. Does this part offer bracket support or is it for corrosion control. It looks be be made of corrosion control material. Do I need to replace this ASAP or can I run it like this for awhile? Thanks

    I would recommend replacing it.

It essentially has a "triple function":

    -Anode protection
    -Lateral support between transom brackets
-Lower side protection for your offshore trim cylinder
