I used this place and got 1/8 gym rubber, it cam in Tuesday and i will install this weekend. I already cut to fit and I'd say its real easy to work with and dirt cheap.

    Re: carpet deck padding (GregInAtl)

just some heads up information-heres the problems your going to have with this type of product, will it stay stuck to your boat deck will it be super slippery when wet will it stand up to the outdoor sun /rain/cold will it even last more than a couple of months because of all the chemicals we use when were fishing and how easy is it to maintain can it be cleaned, the reason i have all this info is i have my own production company that has been testing and developing a MARINE DECK-AID that will and can totally replace boat carpeting. In addition it can be made in almost any colot /texture and we can customize it with your own logo or fishing logos. We have finally received the patent rights and all the testing is complete,in fact we have had it on salt water boats for three years without any wear.Lastly for anyone with a bad back this padding makes standing in a boat all day comfortable. The bad news is it will not be available to the public for a couple more months,Thanks john s

Closed cell is very chemical resistant in these applications ( under marine carpet) it is similar to the carpet backing and less prone to breakdown bc of being water proof. It is not the ultimate answer, it just works as advertised and I did the front deck for $20.
As long as anglers use oils on lures we will struggle with long term adhesion. The secret is never ever ever set the bottle on the carpet or spray down. Lures w sprayshould be attachedto the rod to minimize bleed off. This has worked well for me anyway.
I am definately interested to see a new product esp if it addresses these issues.

    Re: carpet deck padding (GregInAtl)

The Pro-Tech Deck from Clark Marine is 1/4" standard thickness...it is also closed cell, antimicrobial, and green (not color..recycled from Ortho)

It just specifies that you cut it 1/2" from all edges so the carpet will taper down right.
