Types of Lead worth the trouble?

I was thinking of making jigs this winter. The only question i have is the type of lead i have. I used to be a big shooter before i got into bass fishing and i have about 150 pounds of hard lead shot and about the same in cast bullets. Will the lead be to hard to melt and mold in 3/8 and larger jigs or will i need to find softer lead. The only reason i want to do this is because of the amount of lead i have.

    Thanks

The bullets may be ok, but the shot should be a last resort. The shot will solidify faster and may not fill the mold cavity completely before it freezes. I use lead shot when I have to, but I try to mix it with some soft lead.

If you get the pot hot and flux the lead with candle wax it should pour as good as wheel weights. The antimony will make it a bit more difficult to melt but why not melt down 5 pounds and give it a try.

I have used lots of different leads with lots of different alloys over the years and have been able to get all of them to pour with a really hot pot and some flux.
