Will there be any speed benefits by decarbing a motor that my or may not have been decarbed recently. I ran some seafoam through the tank a few years ago, but other than I haven't done anything to it and not sure what the original owner did. Anyway justasking, my 175 faststrike seems to be a little weak, but maybe its just me.
There would be a benefit if your rings are sticking, that would cause your compression to be low. If you don't know when it was done I would just do it, you won't hurt anything by doing it even if it was recently done and then you will know that it has been done.
Thanks another question. I read something about decarbing where a guy hooked up a 6 gallon tank with the seamfoam in it and idled around the lake then let it sit for 8 hours or something. I thought you just had to dump it in your gas tank and it worked by itself.
Putting Seafoam in the gas is for maintenance. Some people will mix one can into a small tank with 1 or 2 gallons fuel then idle for 15 minutes then set 15 minutes. I prefer to use one can of BRP engine tune and follow the directions on the can. You cannot go wrong.
