    94 200 Johnson Venom oil question...Need clarifacation...

I have a 94 Johnson 200 venom and I posted a while back and was informed to run XD-50. I went to my local (highly recommended) bass boat dealer and when i was about to buy the xd-50 they said you are wrong, you need xd-30. Please help me, I want the correct oil for the motor. I would rather spend more now then later. Thank you.!!!!!!!

The XD-50 is better to keep your motor lubricated and clean.

    Thank you Rusty,

The dealer said "its a carb motor" so it should be xd-30
Could you please give me a response/reason to use xd-50, so I can return the gallon of XD-30 I purchased from the shop and get xd-50? Education needed and greatly appreciated!
    I thank you in advance!!!!!!

Your dealer is mistaken! The xd-50 is better for your motor and if he carries it in bulk it is cheaper on your wallet!!!!! Let me explain and Rusty or Fred I hope you will stick this for a few days to help some guys out. The xd-50 is a semisynthetic that has the additives that are better for your motor than the xd-30 which is a standard petroleuem oil (sp) with no additives. Bought on the shelf the xd-30 will usually cost ya 18.00 bought in bulk at my dealer with my jug I can get the xd-50 for 16.00 gal . Hence a 2.00 savings and the semi syn is better for your engine! The 30 is TCW3, it has no additives to reduce carbon as the 50 does, Carbon can cause internal damage to your motor.......Or as CM says, "Internal parts become external".

You will also notice less smoke with the XD-50 oil because of the synthetic additive and base stocks.
