Water intrusion in Torquemaster-How to isolate?

Propshaft seal was replaced due to almost 90% of L/U with water. Recently, water has appeared again in the L/U after changing the fluid. Unit has been pressure tested without any obvious problems. Any idea(s) as to identifying the source of the problem? Thanks for all replies.

Pressurize the unit and submerge in a tank of water. Turn all shafts back and forth and side to side to find "air bubbles" . It'll show up!! How much pressure were you hitting it with? I usually hit 'em with about 14-15 psi!

If you run the gearcase high it will build a lot of pressure. Check the seal under the waterpump for pressure on the pump base. That seal needs to be bolted in. There is a kit for that though Mercury. Also the shift shaft on the 3 liter is quick to go bad.. Good luck

    +1 to the above recommendations.

Remember- BEFORE PRESSURE TESTING- the gearcase must be COMPLETELY DRAINED.

Common leak point for this type of leakage is the INNER PROPSHAFT SEAL, and is sometimes very difficult to locate until you reach 15 psi.
