    My first rifle

well when i turned 18 on Saturday i went and bought my first rifle a Browning X-Bolt Medallion in 30-06! Man it is a sweet gun, and it looks so good, and the action is silky smooth. I havent shot it yet, im waiting to get the scope mounted and that gun with a nikon 3-9 i hope itll be a deer slayer, wanted to post a couple pictures as well, when i went into teh gun shop after i paid for the browning i picked up a Mossberg o/u silver reserve in 20ga, and then i almost walked out with it as well! I really need to watch my self in gun shops they might start costing me more money!!

Great looking rifle. I shoot an Abolt in .270. Browning makes great guns.

Nice rifle! Those browning guns are beautiful. My father in law had one in 300 win mag and it seemed to have stiffer recoil than my 700 BDL in 300 win mag but it was a great shooting gun. Do yourself a favor. Make your next hobby reloading.

Yeah, im trying to get my grandfather to teach me how, because i would love to learn how to tinker and find the bullet thats just right for my gun, but i havent had any luck yet! plus i think its more cost effective than just buying factory ammo.

That sure is purdy. Hope that you get it to shot well and get to take some fine deer with it.

With a little care that gun will last you a life time. I have a BAR 30.06 and 270 and both were made in the late 60's and both will shot a 1/2" group at 100 yards.

That looks like a nice weapon and I expect it'll be an awesome deer slayer (if you do your part).

Just one thing: tell Grandma to curb her enthusiasm a little!

All those are mine buy they were once my late grandfathers and when i passed my hunter safety test i was told since i was like five when i passed it i would get the craig, so i passed and my grandmother gave it too me, the bolt is still pretty smoth which i found facinating, its an 1899 model so its like 111 years old, i was gonna shoot it, but i decided just to hold on to it since my grandfathers not around any more.

my great grandmother was just unhappy that i got a gun. She lost her son to friendly fire when he was in the marines and since then she doesnt want anything to do with a gun, she didnt even want me to show it to her, oh well.

    Nice Gun...

I shoot an A Bolt in 30.06 with a Nikon 3X9, it is a great gun but the deer don't like it much.
