    Fishing Ross Barnett Reservoir

Visited my daughter in Brandon this past week and got to fish RB for the first time since 1995. Fished half a day with a buddy I haven't seen in over 14 years. Had a blast! We fished both the pads up river from Tommy's as well as the blowdowns and flats up past Ratliff Ferry. Caught most of our fish on the edges of the pads throwing a Texas-rigged Junebug worm. Biggest fish was only around 2# but we caught quite a few.

This was a totally different experience than fishing Bull Shoals Lake where the water is really clear, very deep and lacking in any structure other than ledges and some brushpiles put out by the Game & Fish. I fish these waters with light fluorocarbon line (10# Seaguar Invisiz) and that didn't work all that great on the pads and pad stems. Too abrasive for fluorocarbon which abrades pretty quickly. Broke of twice on good fish. Guess when I get back there I'll have to rig up some 20# XT

Well sounds like ya'll had a good time. Yeah the pads can be pretty rough on your line. Aren't you moving back down this way sometime soon.

That's the plan. Just have to find a buyer for our home in Bull Shoals. The R/E market is pretty tough right now. We looked at some homes around Brandon and the Reservoir while we were there visiting our daughter. Saw quite a few foreclosure sales, prices reduced for the umpteenth time, etc. It's a real buyers market with lots of good deals in that area right now. But, the market has slowed here too unfortunately and we have to sell our home first.

In the meantime, I'm still having fun fishing Bull Shoals Lake, Norfork Lake, Table Rock Lake, etc. while I'm still here. Won 3rd place in the Disabled Veterans Inaugural Bass Tournament this past weekend on Bull Shoals Lake

Yeah I'm house hunting myself right now. Probably gonna move out towards Brandon, Reservoir Area. Plenty of houses I just can't decide what I want. Yeah I went up to table rock for the first time earlier this year, and I can't blame you for not being in to big of a hurry. It is really nice up that way.
