    Hot Foot Cable

Ok guys I got the hot foot and I'm about ready to put it in. (I know, I know, cant believe I have not done it yet!!)

I need to know how long a cable to get. I have a 2001 20SS Extreem with a Johnson 225 HO. If any body know I sure would appreciate the info on the cable length so I can get this thing hooked up and going...

    Thanks

    Re: Hot Foot Cable (mofish)

If you have a BPS or Cabela's Marine catalog, there's a diagram explaining how to measure for your cables. Basically, measure from the point you'll place the unit to the right side gunwhale, then down along the gunwhale to the furthest point aft in the bilge compartment, and then back center to the control inlet on the OB....I add a foot just in case. Better to be a hair long than too short. My guess is you'll need 14' - 15'. When you install it, just make sure you don't have any sharp or short bends in the cable, or it will bind and wear out prematurely....that and meter your drill bit with a good wad of tape so you don't mistakenly drill holes thru the hull when you install the plate. It's pretty simple. Good luck.
