I Class trailer light question?

I have an 06 I Class and on the inside rail of the trailer just past the jack there is a small black box straped to the inside of the rail and only when my lights are on it makes a high pitched constant beeping. It stops when I turn the lights off. All the lights, signals and brakes work I was just wondering what this is and is supposed to beep like it is.

I don't know why it is beeping but I beleive the box originally controlled the Skeeter lights in the front of the fenders....I beleive they were called luminous or something to that effect....mine were replaced with differnt lights from EZ-loader...I think they found out that luminous idea was a flop....

I believe that is the transformer for the neon "bug" lights (as the previous post stated). The noise it's making doesn't sound healthy to me. I'm surprised your lights are still working. I went through 2-3 of them before my bug lights were replaced with the new style.
