    Evinrude Product Support

Just moved back to Texas from Florida where Evinrudes Product support (Century Marine) was great. But here in FT.Worth, there is none. I have over 300 hrs. on a 200 HO E-Tec that has a warranty problem. The first dealer I contacted said "We havent seen but one or two HO's". Since I make my living with this boat, I did'nt want them going to school on mine. The second dealer informed me that Evinrude screwed them when thy went bankrupt, they would look at it but they really did'nt want to. The third dealer said it would be 2 to 3 weeks, if I dropped it off today, before they could diagnose it. Called the Evinrude man that is over Texas, took it where he suggested. After pulling the boat 117 miles, one way, it has set for a week and hasent even been diagnosed. Loved the E-Tec until now. Bad as I hate to say it, my 2008 will have a Yamaha. If you live around Ft. Worth TX., dont buy an Evinrude.

    Re: Evinrude Product Support (Stankweed)

kind of weird that you are only a member for 1 day , no other posts other than to downgrade service. you need to search the BRP web site and look for dealers of which there 6 at least in the dallas -FT worth area. you may want to call rusty and talk to him at C+O marine and he could direct you and also maybe the ark area since you are close to ark and also Shreveport. good luck

    Re: Evinrude Product Support (lkhartwl)

Believe it or not, Evinrudes website is where I started looking for service. After calling the three closest, up to 60 miles from me, I called Kris Schneider. Know who he is? Had to pull the boat 117 miles. I'm not knocking service, Im sure its ok, when you can get it. I love the engine, I'm just saying that in my area if Evinrude plans to compete with Yamaha and Merc. they are going to have to step up. One of the circuits I fish averages 250 teams a Tourney, I have seen one other E- Tec, what does that tell you. By the way, As far as Arkansas and Louisiana, why would I want to go 180 miles for service when I'm not too happy about 117?

Have you tried Texas Boat World in Harker Heights? They are a BBC sponsor, and handle Evinrudes.... Look at the BBC sponsors on the left side of the main page and give TBW a call...

I tried The Evinrude site, too, but their info is incomplete... check on the Texas forum, too... The guys can point you in the right direction...

    Re: Evinrude Product Support (Z21ROD)

I couldnt believe it myself. In my opinion, this is the best outboard on the market. But in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, Evinrude has no market share to speak of. This is a shame.

Thanks for the Harker Heights suggestion. If I have problems with the dealership that has my boat, I'll give them a call.
