    Lower unit info

    When should I change the lower unit oil in my pro v? Also how do u change it and check it? Thanks

    I change mine twice a season, mid and end before storage. Never really stored but may sit a month or two during the winter.

    It depends on hours but most do it once a year. If you store your boat do it right before you put it to bed.

    Very easy to change. You can download a manual from Yamaha. Basically just remove the top screw/plug and pump lu oil from the bottom screw magnet plug until oil runs out of the top. Replace the top screw with a new orange gasket and then remove the pump that threads on the lower fill hole and replace the magnet screw with a new orange gasket as well. Should be very snug but not over tight. Use a good 12 inch screw driver with a wide blade that allows you to get a good bite on it.
