    Changing reeds in a 175 Yama!!

    Is changing reeds something That I can do my self ? I do have some skill's in Mach. work. I have a 99 carb, 175 Yame and i think that a reed change would improve the performance.

    Here's the way I see it, I've met some mechanics over the years that just didn't seem to have a lot of brains, other than their mechanical skills. If they can read instructions and repair things, then why can't you. Get good instructions and follow them to the letter, take your time and do it right.

    Absolutely, you can do it yourself. I changed mine out in my Pro-v two years ago. Remove the carbs, remove the intake, swap reeds, but it all back. Took me all of three hours and I really, really took my time.

    I know i can do it just trying to see if there is something that i needed more info. on before i changed them out. What is the best reeds to use for my 175 yame? and will it be legal in a tourney.?
