    Intermitten warning beep????? Help!

Ok I have a weird one for you Merc Experts.

    I have a 97 75elpto

I got it out today for the first time this season.

when I out the hammer down on it I got a beep-beep-beep......
Once I start trimming it goes away.

The heavier lead I have in the boat. the worse it is.

Trimmed all the was down it starts at about 1500/2000 RPM
Once it starts I ease up on the throttle it goes away.....

I know it's getting oil it's smoking good and after 2 hours I noticed a drop in the oil level.

This has me very nervous only because I lost a motor a few years back to a faulty oilier and failed warning..

    PLEASE HELP

Most likely cause would be a problem with the float in the oil tank (and it's interaction with the oil level sensor).

In most cases, replacement of the oil tank and sensor is the only appropriate method to correct this.

Due to the critical nature of the oil injection system, I would strongly recommend enlisting the Hands-On Expertise of a Certified or Master Technician (unless you are 110% certain of your ability to correctly diagnose and repair the problem).

The tank is only about 1/3 full. I will top it off and see if it helps.

Good idea. On this particular engine series, I would not recommend allowing the oil tank level to reach less than 50% capacity (1/2 full).

considering I could see 1/3 of the float looking in the tank I think i found my problem and why it only happened while accelerating!

    I feel so retarded!

    I just needs oil!
