Need help finding the correct Key Switch Harness

I have been having an issue with my kill switch and was able to isolate it to the main cable coming from the motor to the dash (after many questions on here, thank you!) I called Ranger and they do not stock my harness anymore. The only information they have for me is what she thought was a part number, R-014. I did a quick google search and nothing about Mercury Marine or Quicksilver came up. Is that enough information for anyone here to come up with the cable I need? I'm hoping to get this ordered soon so I will have it in-hand when I pull my boat from storage in a couple months.

    Thanks in advance!

The main harness is not specific to "Ranger". It's part of the Mercury Engine. What engine is it, and more important what serial#, if you have it?

I knew that it wasn't Ranger specific, but I read somewhere that there are multiple harnesses available and it is up to the boat manufacturer to spec out which one they need. That's why I called them.

    That being said, it's a 2004 2.5L 200 EFI.

As you probably already know, you will probably have to come up with a Mercury part number. With that, a site like this may be of help to you: http://www.marineengine.com/is...&y=11

The suggestion of contacting Don Weed directly is a good one.

    David:

Your best bet is going to be to obtain a COMPLETE keyswitch harness assembly.

Sherm @ Sherm's Marine (or I) would be more than happy to assist you with this (and likely already have one on hand).

Email or Phone are the BEST means of contacting the Parts Department(s).
