Calin Gasket, 98 Johnson 150 FS

I took off the calin to inspect the motor and the gasket between the lower part of the housing and calin came off. I put it back in the channel on the calin but now it wont go down far enough to allow the calin locks to secure it. Has anyone experience this before and if so, is there a trick to getting it back on? Just bought the boat and motor in January.

I have same motor gasket comes off every now and then just have put it back on. Keep f-ing with gasket you probably didn't put it on right

Use the 3M 847 - Type M - sealer 1000 - to glue the gasket back on the motor cover. A light spray of silicone lube -not WD40- will help with taking the cover on and off.
