    Bad Gas or Heat Soak

Hi Guys!! I've got a problem with my 2000 Johnson 225 HO (J225 HGLSSC). Thought I'd post on here and get some creative feedback.. I got on the water early, engine started reasonably easy considering its sat for 6 weeks, motored out ,up on plane ran about 67 mph hit first spot, fished for an hour, started fine, mashed on hot foot, engine bogged ,sputtered and died. Started easy again, bogged down and stalled again.. I tried hitting the choke, did not help, Feathered the throttle till rpms came up, got on plane, ran fine.. Hit next spot, fished, same symptoms again.. I do use Stabill and Yamalube additives, Engine does not smoke. I have checked Throttle roller, its on the money, Primer bulb is 3/8 with yellow fittings, changed in-line fuel filter, some settiment in filter. Going to change fuel lines to Ethanol grade lines, see if that helps.. Is there any other fixes or additives I could add to help solve this problem?
I also pulled all plugs, none are wet or oil soaked, all burning the same.

Did you not try pumping the bulb, if its heatsoak it helps to fill the bowls with cold fuel.

I have the same problem w/ my 95' 175 Yamaha Pro V. Gets up on plane just fine to get to the first spot n than after that it boggs down and you have to feather the throttle to get it to go n once its up on plane it runs fine. I got frustrated today n for some reason opened the gas tank cap to allow n heard air get sucked into the tank. It got up on plane just fine than until I wanted to go to the next spot. Bogged down. Opened up the gas tank n heard air getting sucked in. I believe your problem n my problem is that the gas tank isn't venting properly. I'm going to hook a small portable tank tommorow n see if that is the problem. Only thing I can think of.

Re: Bad Gas or Heat Soak (The Next KVD)

I had the same problem with a 94 175 intruder. After it going to 4 differant shops and 2 months with no fiix I decided to go down 3 sizes on my low speed jets and that solved my stalling problems.
