Ok I have an 84 Evnirude 150 and have no spark on any of the 6 cyclinders. At first thought a power pak but with no spark that eliminates that. What else could be the issue? I thought maybe timing base and got theright resistance readings and next was stator but dont know how to test it? Need help bad need to get fixed before weekend have a tourney on Sunday.
Check the kill switch, If you have the old round push on lanyard these will wear out and the button will push out and kill the spark. Push in on the button and check for spark.
Times like this is when the factory manual is invaluable,as the test procedure would be in it.
This happened to me about a year ago, and it was a bad ignition switch. My engine would not run sometimes, but when it wouldn't run it didn't have any spark. My first thought was a power pack also, but after replacing it it still wouldn't run. Something went wrong in the inside of the ignition swich. With the kill wire disconnected (blk w/yellow I think) the engine would run, but as soon as I would touch that wire to the pole it was sposed to be on the engine would die. About $30 bucks was all it cost me... but I do have an extra power pack.
