Re: Pros and cons of the VMC Barbarian Megabass OutBarb Trebles (-BjBnet-)

Ive been throwing them exclusively for about 2 months now, and they are awesome. The only thing I would like to change about them would be to make them a little heavier wire. If you check on ebay you can get some good deals on them. The last time I bought them I think I paid $22 plus shipping for 100 #4's.

I removed them because they were tearing up the bait paint and losing fish.

I haven't had any problem losing fish with them.

    Flippingcrazy,
I have been using the V8573BN 2X and they are a little too heavy for my liking. I want them lighter and you want them heavier. What model are you using?

They do dig into my baits but thats okay because they dig into jaws too. I don't lose fish and actually hook ratio increased after leaving gammies and triple grips. The Owner ST-36 are about as good as it gets but exspensive.

Re: Pros and cons of the VMC Barbarian Megabass OutBarb Trebles (XB2003)

I'm using the 2X as well, but we crank a lot of pilings(old wood with barnacles) and a good fish will bend the hooks if you horse em out of there. All hooks will wear paint off your bait, so that really isn't a concern of mine either. One of my favorite crankbaits is an old 7A firetiger that hardly has any paint left on it, but it still catches fish.

I have been using them for about 5 years and don't think I have lost a fish. They do tear up your jerkbait but I have a 110 that it seems like the more it gets beat up the better it catches fish.

best treble i have used, started to rig them on all my cranks. As far as the digging into the paint, they are worse then regular trebles. Is the price of one custom painted bait worth more then landing the bass that wins the tourney?

May your catch be plentiful, but not as plentiful as mine!
