Haven't had the boat in the water there since January so I can't help you with a current report. They should be staging on main points and I'd expect them to be moving to the beds within the next 2-3 weeks. Usually by Easter you can find at least some there. The cold weather this week may have pushed them back out a little.
throw spinnerbaits, it seems that is the most consistant lure out there.
When you fishing it? I'll be up there for a few weekends in the next month.

I need to know how many boats this lake can handle. We are trying to decide on which lakes to fish for the WTTT Central Division and this lake was mentioned. Will it hold 100 to 150 boats in a tournament?

its a preety decent size lake, it could handle a lot of boats.
The only downside would be trying to find places for participants to stay. The closest towns are Buffalo, Groesbeck and Franklin. Franklin which is about 40 minutes away has a new Best Western. Buffalo which sits at the intersection of IH 45 and Tx Hwy 79 has several places to stay as well. If you stay in Groesbeck you have take everything in that you don't want stolen, a lot thugs living there along with the ones that come in from Waco to be with their home boys on the weekends. There are also a couple places to stay on the lake; The Running Branch Marina and the Lake Limestone Marina.

Thanks... I remember back in my old cattle raising days that Groesbeck used to be a great little farming community where everyone knew everyone and could leave your house unlocked. From what I hear now, I wouldn't want to be outside in the dark. I would definitely need my 9mm laying in my lap at registration. :)

i go to grosbeck about 10 times a year and still seems like a nice little town.
The Se Federation visits this lake this April. We usually run 100+ boats for this tournament. It can handle 100+ boats easily. Lodging can be an issue though. Most stay in Jewett, Grosebeck or centerville.

Ed a friend of mine just won a tournament there this past weekend. He called me this morning to brag alittle. I'll be going over there in a couple'a weeks to pre-fish and you can go with me if you like. I can work it out on a day you have off during the week.
