I was talking to a friend of mine down here in Fl and he mentioned that there are smallmouth bass in WP, is this true....John

yes, right now they are schooling with hybrids and stripers....nothing big but
lots of them.

If you are talking about west point ga/ala. You have been told wrong there are no smallmouth, there is spotted bass though and plenty of them!

That would be correct...water too warm and too shallow for smallies
