    Sutton Lake, Wilmington, NC

    Hey all,

I'm a newbie to NC fishing, recently moving from Charleston, SC. Ugh, I miss fishing the Cooper River and the lower lake-Moultrie, Hatchery, Blacks. I'm planning to hit Sutton Lake on Tuesday (weather permitting---calling for 20mph winds) but definitely on Friday. I am asking for any suggestions on types of lures or baits that work well there. I've got a map of the lake and understand it's realitively shallow in the middle with deep channels running on the perimeter. So my plan was to work the channels but I'm not sure what to throw (ie jigs, cranks, plastics (t-rigged or c-rigged), creature baits(I've got some sweet beavers I wanna try out) or should I throw lizards since the water is wamer)). So I'll take any helpful tips. If anyone else is planning to fish these days I'll be in the 17' CC Seafox. Thanks.

I usually post on SCBass.net as FMF Doc.

Well as long as I know who you are there..I'm ChampioNman on all the boards I'm on SCLakes, SCbass, here, BFHP, ScreamNFly,etc. Unfortunatly never fished up your way, I would definatly work the drops with a crank bait, and everything you've mentioned then work up shallow they are in there somewhere .
