These are likely some pretty basic questions as I am a greenhorn to the world of boat ownership and fish finders in general.
Last year I swapped out the existing console unit on the new-to-me boat for a EchoMap Plus 73SV. It was a big improvement, though I still have plenty of learning to do with it. Even added a Canada LakeVu chip before heading north last summer.

Like a lot of others I jumped at the chance to get an EchoMap Plus 93SV this past winter when the big-chains were clearing them out. Which I plan to get on the bow - now that spring turkey season is over. I've got a month left to get my free Chart upgrades for both US and Canada maps. So my 1st question is how do I need to go about making those updates and what do I need?

2nd question has to do with Software Updates - got even less idea about how to go about doing those. Assuming its best to do them. But how does that work?

I do have Garmin Express & HomePort downloaded to my computer and ActiveCaptain to my phone. But not sure how they all fit into the equation.
