    Rusty....wingnuts on battery ?

This is regarding the reply to the killswitch post. I didn't want to jump on someone elses post so I started this one.

You said that if you have wing nuts holding the cables to the battery, change them to nylon lock nuts. Why? All my boats have had wingnuts.

    Thanks.

Because wing nuts vibrate loose & fry electronics costing you $$$.

Thanks. Didn't think about them vibrating loose. I'll be sure to change mine.

I still have the wingnuts. Before the season, I make sure they're tight using a pair of pliers. Haven't had them come loose yet.
