I will give you my 2 cents.....skinny dippers, craws for flipping, 10 inch worms, senkos and maybe a spinnerbait.
All thrown on braided line for me.
When in "late" March? The Lake Okeechobee Rally is the 18-25 of March......
Average depth of entire lake is 6'.... Unless you want too fish the rim ditch leave the DEEP diving crank baits at home. Fishing Florida style takes some adjusting.... As Deana was eluding too, come to the rally.... You will get great info on the lake and cut your learning curve in half.

30-65lb braid line, suggest powerpro, medium heavy 7ft with a good 7-1gear ratio reel...
swimbaits soft-zoom ss fluke, gamberl big ex, swimmin ez,
zoom horny toads...
craws/lizzards/jig/trailer/ for flipping beds...
spinerbaits
squarebill crankbits
and senkos

thanks for info, hate to ask to many questions, but on the plastic what are the 2 best colors on the big ez ,skinner dippers etc. i know the water is clear, just need a base color to start with![]()

I like the big ez in copperfield or forty niner colors.

thanks, I use a lot of white, black, green pumpkin colors here on the tenn river. will these work? or does the neutral colors work better . on the skinny dippers are the bigger ones better?
is there a tackle store at rolands? or where is hte best place to buy tackle close?
Bring a Flippin stick and a Big EZ 65lb braid and your done!

Roland's wilol have the over priced stuff and the only other real store (on the north end of town) is a Wal Mart.

fishermans headquaters just on the north end has all the tackle you would ever need...including the ez swimmer, and big ez....best shop on the lake....

What LD said............I was just in there Sunday and he is stock full of almost everything...........except double guard jigs....
In late match you can throw a hot dog and the will eat it anything works
