    Phosphate pits

I am searching for some phosphate pits within 50 miles of the Lakeland area other than Teneroc to fish.

Can any of you guys lend a hand?

The pit at Edward Medard Park just opened 1-1-2012 after being closed for over a year.

I'll send you some info by IM then for a guide that does guided trips in private pit in Lakeland.
I've never used this guy, but I seen him take many checks in bass tournaments and he lives on these private pits.

Sounds great! Thanks for your help.

I am from NC and have an office in Lakeland and we take a boat down and leave it in February and just fly back and forth and fish till May. I will be down in Mid Feb and I will buy you a beer and swap fishing tales for your help.

Well I don't drink anymore, but maybe we can meet up on one of the pits at Tenoroc while you're down. Me and my wife fish out there 85% of the time, if not more. The Tenoroc office has some info on some other pits, but I'm not sure if they're within 50 miles of Lakeland.

IM sent. I was wondering if you knew if Southern national Speedway had re-opened? I heard that someone had purchased it at auction and was trying to get it going again. That is great little 4/10 mile track. I had a buddy that used race super late models up there.

Yes the track is set to open this spring. It has been purchased by a man from northern va and he is set to go racing in march on Friday and Saturday nights.

Anyone have access to any of the pits around White Springs? I was blessed to have been in one of the pits on 3 different occasions by invitation through a friend that worked for the company. Haven't been able to get back in. Talk about being addictive fishing....

    Re: Phosphate pits (Bassin Billy)

There is also Saddle Creek Park which i've caught some pretty good fish in. It's right there by Tenoroc. As for Medard Park, most the fish there according to a FWC officer I know will be small, and that bass anglers probably wouldn't find much enjoyment out of it right now. It's a very neat fishery though.

I haven't talked to Lee in awhile. I thought you'd get the info from his web site I sent you and contact him.
